Why the West is responsible for the Escalation in Ukraine – Professor John Mearsheimer (USA) in Berlin

John J. Mearsheimer is a professor of political science at the University of Chicago.
He is the author of several books and writes among other publications for the New York Times and Foreign Affairs, a journal of international relations and U.S. foreign policy. Published by the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR).

In September 2014 Mearsheimer wrote an article for Foreign Affairs that was highly critical of the US-policy towards Russia.

The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) is a nonprofit, 4900 member think tank specializing in U.S. foreign policy and international affairs. Its membership has included senior politicians, more than a dozen Secretaries of State, CIA directors, bankers, lawyers, professors, and senior media figures. The CFR promotes globalization, free trade, reducing financial regulations on transnational corporations, and economic consolidation into regional blocs such as NAFTA or the European Union, and develops policy recommendations that reflect these goals

The CFR meetings convene government officials, global business leaders and prominent members of the intelligence/foreign-policy community to discuss international issues. CFR runs the think tank „David Rockefeller Studies Program“, which influences foreign policy by making recommendations to the presidential administration and diplomatic community, testifying before Congress, interacting with the media, and publishing on foreign policy issues.

Professor Mearsheimer has just been to Berlin, where he spoke at an event. He gave two important interviews.
