At the 70th anniversary commemoration of the liberation of Sachsenhausen Nazi concentration camp on April 22 and 23, 1945:
US citizen Elsa Rassbach urges German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier (SPD) to do everything possible to stop the US from continuing to use the Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany for extra-judicial drone killings. The Ramstein base plays an essential role in all CIA and Pentagon drone strikes in Africa and the Middle East. Anti-drone activist Rassbach told the German foreign minister that many Americans and people all around the world would be grateful if the German government would use its authority to put an end to US violations of international and human rights laws on German territory.
